Summer Learning Camp Focus



Students are assessed on current math abilities and brush up on any areas they need additional help with, in order to get them to grade level or even excel beyond.

Reading and Study Skills


Students take part in an array of group phonics instruction in order to build reading, writing and spelling skills.  Those with solid reading skills above a 4th grade level do coursework on how to use a dictionary and building vocabulary and study skills.

Chess Lessons


Students build and enhance problem solving and strategic thinking skills through learning and playing the game of chess with an experienced chess instructor.

Summer Learning Camp Details



Includes students going into 4th grade and those just completing 8th grade.


June 10 – July 26, 2019

Monday - Friday 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Lunch served daily between 12:00 –12:30 PM

Students must be picked up no later than 4:30 PM - NO before/after care is provided


Students are assessed in math and reading upon enrollment and then work on individualized learning programs in small groups of 10 with the assistance of a trained tutor.

Attention is focused on the areas of greater difficulty and always with 100% comprehension and demonstrated mastery before moving onto the next part.

Students who assess higher than a 4th grade reading level will do course work on how to use a dictionary, building vocabulary and study skills.

One hour of each day is focused on math, another hour on reading/study skills and a third hour is spent on learning and playing chess; to build and enhance problem solving and strategic thinking skills.


$280 for the full 7 week program

$15 material cost (student workbook)

Lunch is included for all students

Partial program enrollment requires a minimum of 3 consecutive weeks at $45 per week.
